GIRONA AIRPORT: Transport information

There are three ways to get to Girona-Costa Brava airport with public transport services to Barcelona city, although train it is a non-direct way to get to or from the airport to Barcelona city. It is also possible to go to other cities at Costa Brava area.

If you rent a car the airport it is connected with three main roads:

  • E-15/AP-7 toll road (Perpignan, France - south of Spain)
  • C-25 (Lleida-Vic- Girona)
  • N-II, no-toll road (Madrid - Barcelona - Perpignan, France)

The shuttles from and to Girona-Costa Brava airport are constantly going on matching up with flight arrivals and departures. All the line have return trip.

  • Airport - Barcelona (approximately 1 hour 10 minutes, departure times depending on flights. On Sunday the last bus leaves Barcelona at 7.15pm)
  • Airport - Costa Brava/Maresme (Stops at Tossa de Mar, Lloret de Mar, Blanes, Malgrat de Mar, Santa Susanna, Pineda de Mar and Calella de la Costa),
  • Airport - North Costa Brava (Stops at Figueres, Roses, Pineda de Mar, Calella de Palafrugell and Tossa de Mar)
  • Airport - Girona (25 minutes, passing every hour)
  • Airport - Perpignan (France) 6 times daily. Stops at Le Boulou

Until the new AVE line will be built, there is not train service straight to and from Girona Airport. If you want to travel by train, you have to take a taxi to Riudellots station which is the closest just 4 km away. Another option is get to Girona city also by cab or bus and then take the train at Renfe station at the center of Girona.
